Post Problems with Communication to EV3 via USB
Hello,

I installed ROBOTC for LEGO-MINDSTORMS v4.32 on my laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate.
I need it for my EV3-brick.
I start the program, connect my EV3 via USB, choose platformtype EV3 and download Linux Kernl. If I try to download the firmware or compile and download an example program, i get a message like 'unable to communicate to EV3' and under 'Error Code:' is nothing.
Then I resetted the EV3-brick and repeated these steps with the same results.
With LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 Home Edition i have no problem to communicate with my EV3.
I tried to reinstall ROBOTC for LEGO-MINDSTORMS v4.32, I restarted the EV3-brick and I disconnected an connected the EV3-brick from Laptop, but nothing works.
What could I do?

Thank you,
EggiMaster

Hi there,

You can find some good instructions here. I think you're simply missing the ROBOTC VM on your brick, that's all :)

Hello,

I already followed exactly these instructions. Everytime I choosed Standard File to download firmware i got this error message. Even if i tried to download a simple example-code on the brick, I got this error message, too.
Under Robot/LEGO Brick the program seems to recognize my brick and the download of the operating system on my EV3 works fine.
I forgot to note, that I use the trial-version (for 10 days).

Thanks,
EggiMaster

Hey there,

Could you please provide us with the complete message log of the attempted firmware upload? You can do that by performing the following steps:
Enable "Super User" menu level:

Next, enable the logging in the preferences pane. Make sure "Message Tracing" is set to "Character level"

Now, open the message log window:

Just use copy and paste to retrieve the text from the message window and put it into a text file or copy into a reply to this post.

Thanks!
