Post Programmatically transferring files to the NXT (Windows)
Hi,

does anybody know a way to programmatically transfer files (i.e. .txt-files) to (or from) the NXT - from a Windows machine?
I used NeXTTool.exe for that, but it seems to be incompatible to the latest RobotC firmwares (2.0.2 works, 2.26.1 doesn't work).
Are there any alternatives out there?

Thanks for your time,
Felix

Hi,

are you serious? Not a single idea?
In that case, make it a feature request:

Please, implement command line arguments for RobotC that allow to use the commands the internal "file manager" uses to download / upload files programmatically.

I would suggest you write a mail to support@robotc.net to make sure the devs get your feature request./

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I think this program by muntoo might be it. It's able to do all kinds of cool things like play certain sound files, delete things, etc. If you follow the link, you'll find a lot of info about it.

Hi DiMastero,

probably I didn't describe exactly what I needed:
I want an application running on a Windows-PC that can manage files on the NXT and can be scripted, not a program for the NXT.

Just go to: Robot | NXT Brick | File Management. You can then download files to the NXT, or upload files from it.

Magicode,

I don't think you read what the OP really needs. He knows you can do it through the UI, he needs a program that can be fired off on the command line or from inside another program to to achieve this.

I was wondering if this was implemented at any time.

I want to develop some code that would allow me to send a program to a robot remotely and not directly connected to my PC with bluetooth or USB.

Is this possible?

Thanks,

Pericles

This is not a feature that ROBOTC supports, I'm afraid.
