I have a problem with RobotC 4.55 for Lego Mindstorms.
Sometimes when user save file or work in RobotC, system start work TOO slow.
Problem is that RobotC create A LOT !!! .tmp file in the folder where source file placed.
Help only delete this files but some later problem agains.

Why this happens ? I'm tested on 3 computers. Problems is on all. Windows 7 and Windows 10.
We are using russian version of Windows. Maybe this is a problem ?

Also RobotC Freeze when user try type something russian symbols in source code.

Best Regards,

yes, that happened a lot in our cases, as we have over 40 machines in our institution. It happened a lot more when they are saving files onto a network drive, OR, if you attempt to save file at the time when the machine is slow or with high processing time usage.

Nevertheless, the support named Jason P. finally looked into the issue and said he has fixed it. It will be released in version 4.65. Hopefully in June.

That problem was so annoying. A computer would get stuck and end up creating 65000 temporary files. Trying to delete 65000 temporary files takes a long time. Suprisingly, it takes a lot longer to delete them than the RobotC software took to create them. It seems as if the RobotC software was able to create the massive array of temporary files in less than a minute but by estimates, it takes about half an hour to get rid of them.

Yet as much as I hated that bug, it did provide a good teaching moment where I got to introduce some of the kids to the concepts of Windows File Explorer, wildcards in filename matching patterns (e.g., *.tmp), hexadecimal numbers, and the use of temporary files.

But it is definately frustrating when you are at a Robot tournament and your laptop decides to make 65000 temporary files and then crash on trying to save the program. I use those opportunities to teach the kids to be patient.

Thanks RobotC. But I do hope the problem gets fixed one of these days.
