Post PC <-> NXT USB Communication and Robotc
I have a project where I would like to communicate with an NXT connected to my Windows PC. Basically I would like to send commands to the NXT over the USB connection and have the NXT perform action such as move a motor or read a sensor. I am looking for a simple API in whatever language on the PC to connect to USB, transmit/receive command (integer, byte, string, etc.) and close connection. As well an API in RobotC for the NXT to connect to USB, transmit/receive command and close connection. lejos for NXT has all of this. PC API and NXT API to communicate over USB connection. Does RobotC support this at least from the NXT side and if so what is the API? Is there any PC API via the lib-usb win32, etc. that is supplied by RobotC or third party to perform these functions. lejos performs this out of the box. The irony of this is they recommend downloading the RobotC NXT driver file to get it to work. So I believe the underpinnings to support USB is there for RobotC but no out of the box API/libraries on Windows to allow an PC application to communicate with a Mindstorms NXT over a USB cable. I have purchased RobotC and would like to use it but some of my projects involve tethering the NXT to a PC and communicating with the NXT. Does RobotC directly or indirectly support this?
