Cool stuff again, as usual. When will the .LDD file be up ? :)

Umm, I think your joking, right? This was just running on the virtual emulator. It was just the code, with no physical interface.

P.S. Thanks!

No, I mean the real contraption. I want to steal your claw design :)

Actually I don't have a use for it yet, but I will think of something :) My local club needs a ball sorter for this years Ballmagedon.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jeioJzvNe8 maybe it can be adapted.

Oh. Okay. I'm working on getting all the pics uploaded now. There should be enough to replicate it. Although, it's pretty basic. It's exactly like a normal claw, but it hinges on shock absorbers. Just remember: "Give credit where credit is due!".

BTW, my sorter didn't actually learn. As I said, mechanical glitches kept it from learning properly.

haha, just kidding sort of - no rush, not sure I will do anything, I belive someone else has already started a potential sorter. It is not until October anyhow :) http://brickcon.org/

Again, great job - how about a neural network in RobotC for the learning ? :P

I wasn't rushing. I just happened to be uploading them as you posted. I wish I could go to BrickCon, but there's no way my dad is bringing me all the way to seattle.

Neural network? I have nowhere near that skill yet.

Ah but you seem skilled enough to be able to learn that stuff. It's well worth looking into, I am pretty sure you'd enjoy it.

Is there a particular resource you have found useful to learning Neural Network programming? I'd be interested in learning (maybe...), but don't know of a good tutorial/book/etc.

The last book I got was http://www.amazon.com/Programming-Neural-Networks-Encog3-ebook/dp/B005S0FNBS/ref=sr_1_4?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1335814853&sr=1-4 but to be honest, I was not all that impressed with it. I am attracted to the software though since it has a Java and .Net version, the book just seemed to think you already knew NN. NN has changed quite a bit in the last year or so, so do not get anything older, many ideas have been 'updated'. The basic concept is often called Machine Learning, which is probably a better name since it really has little to do with neurons. I would explore that category first, ie http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Ddigital-text&field-keywords=machine+learning

I don't have any specific books no, I just Googled and tinkered a little. Someone by the name of Doc Helmut wrote some code for a NN in ROBOTC. Not sure where he left it but it's on the forums somewhere :)

You'll have to run it through Google Translate to read the German comments.

In any case, NNs are fun to program, just start simple :)

Hmm. Neural Nets. Nets for neurons. Neurons caught in the 'net. 1 NXT = 1 Neuron. Anybody got a couple billion NXTs? Things to think about.

BTW, Ford's thread: http://www.robotc.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=557 He was Ford Prefect here, not the Doc Helmut most of us know.
