Please feel free to direct me to the appropriate forum if needed...
I recently purchase a license for RobotC 4.x with the impression that I could also use the same license to download 3.x. when I try to do this it tells me the license is not able to do that. What did I do wrong?

What exact steps are you using to try to activate ROBOTC 3.x? And do you also have 4.x already activated with the same license?

I tried to activate 3.x through 4.x and did not appear on the list of licenses to add. Then I downloaded a trial of 3.x and tried my license number and password I used to download 4.x and it said the license was not correct for 3.x.

So, to use 3.x with a 4.x license, you have to download the 3.x software, which it sounds like you already have. Now, to activate the 3.x software, you have to go to the add license screen and select "ROBOTC for LEGO MINDSTORMS 4.x" as the product, NOT 3.x. Then your license ID and password should work.

Well that is exactly what I have done, so I guess I will see what happens when trial runs out. That would explain the difference in the expiration dates on my 4.x license file and the one marked 4.x in my 3.x license file if that makes since. Thanks for response.

I actually did send the first request to the RobotC folks and never got a response. I even checked my junk mail and nothing there either. I guess I will find out in 2 days when the trial of 3.x expires

I believe it is the same as this keyword License issue and my RobotC name is the same also

No, I mean a name or something I can use to search on. "SuperDaddy" returns 0 results. "License" returns too many :) I need a keyword that would be unique to your request that I can use to search on.
