Is there any way to increase the max speed of the robot over 127 our teacher assigned us to make a dragster and he told us that it should be able to go faster than 127 but he never explained how to do this and if there is a way to do this we would like any help we can get thanks

127 is a power level assignment, not a speed assignment; so when you are applying a value of 127 to the motors, you are telling the Cortex to apply as much power as it safely can to the motors. Any value above 127 (or below -127) that is applied to the motors will result in the maximum value of 127 being applied instead.

Since you cannot apply a motor value greater than 127 to the motors, you will need to find another way to increase the motor's speed. I suggest looking at gear ratios and wheel diameters as ways to make a quicker robot.
