Post Joystick I/O scan
For years I have done all autonomous projects. I am now working on my first joystick operated project. I would like to know how/when the inputs from the joystick scanned? I know the values are accessed by the vexRT[] command, but does that pull from an internal table updated periodically or does it force and wait for a scan from the joystick?

The vexRT array is continuously updated internally so calling it is not blocking in anyway. Treat it like a variable that just happens to be the joystick value.
