Post "bVexBlackEye"
Alright so I was browsing through the Functions part of the RobotC for Vex Cortex and PIC and came across a function that was called 'bVexBlackEye'
The note for it says that it turns the Vex Yellow LED "eye" off. I assume this is the VexNet LED on Cortex and Controller. (Correct me if I'm wrong about this)
Here the sample code it provides for how to use it.
bVexBlackEye = false; //Turns off the VEX yellow eye
bVexBlackEye = true; //Turns on the VEX yellow eye

I tried to put this in a simple program to check its functionality by using an if statement so say if a limit switch is pressed then turn it on and if not then turn its off but when i tried to compile it i got the error
**Error**:Undefined variable 'bVexBlackEye'. 'short' assumed.

is there something im not doing right with this code
will it even work with the cortex
and has anybody ever used this function before?

I've used it before, but I only have the PIC. (I don't know if it works with the Cortex)

Here's the syntax I used (no problems):
bVexBlackEye = true; //Turns off yellow light on PIC
bVexBlackEye = false; //Turns on yellow light on PIC

You're setting the flag correctly, but it is only supported on the VEX PIC. I believe the status lights on the Cortex are controlled by the Master firmware, and not controllable withing ROBOTC (but I could be mistaken about that).

Oh. Well that stinks because it would be awesome to be able to control the LEDs on the Cortex. It'd be cool if some one found a way to mod the master firmware to allow it. But I guess thats just wishful thinking.
