Hamden Middle School's VEX Cortex is not receiving programs. Any code we use will download fine, but it will not execute. We turn on the power after downloading via USB, and it executes some sample program that won't be overwritten. Sometimes ROBOTC doesn't recognize the COM port, and when it does, it apparently doesn't download right. Can someone help? We've had this problem before and are at the point of .

I haven't seen exactly what you're describing before so I'll throw some suggestions and hopefully something will stick...

- Make sure you're using the latest version of ROBOTC, currently 3.04: http://www.robotc.net/download/cortex/ More instructions can be found here: http://www.robotc.net/files/3.x/Getting ... %20VEX.htm
- Also make sure that you have the VEX Cortex device driver downloaded and installed. You will need admin privileges.
- Make sure that you've downloaded the Master CPU and ROBOTC firmware to the Cortex.
- Make sure you're not plugging 2-wire motors directly into 3-wire ports. 2 wire motors must connected to the Cortex using Motor Controller 29 units.

Our motors are the two wire 269 motors. After digging around, we found our motor 29 controllers, and they worked! Thank you for your help!
