Post STUCK IN AUTONOMOUS MODE
Programs run when connected through the debug screen on the PC. The Cortex will not run the program when I disconnect the PC. When disconnected from the PC the Cortex flashes the GAME LED YELLOW fast and the ROBOT LED blinks green 7 times then blinks RED. It appears as if I am stuck in autonomous mode. How do I get out of competition mode? I have the latest RobotC software and Firmware. I am not using a Joystick. The program does not use the competition template.
Code:
task main()
{
motor[leftmotor] = 50;
wait1Msec(1000);
motor[leftmotor] = 0;
}

I switched the VEX CORTEX COMMUNICATION MODE from 'VEXNET OR USB' to 'USB' and it now works.

Post Re: STUCK IN AUTONOMOUS MODE
For reference, here's an explanation of the different modes:

Option 1: VEXnet or USB
With this option selected, ROBOTC will download programs to your Cortex using a VEXnet or USB connection. In this mode, when the Cortex is powered ON it will look for a VEXnet or USB connection before running your program. (The Communication Port > Automatic Selection option in the ROBOTC Preferences should be selected if you plan on switching between VEXnet and USB as your download method.)

Option 2: USB Only
With this option selected, ROBOTC will download programs to your Cortex using only the USB connection. In this mode, when the Cortex is powered ON it will immediately run your program. This option will NOT work if you are using the VEXnet Joysticks to download to the Cortex, or remotely control it.

Option 3: Competition (VEXnet)
This option disables the ROBOTC debugger, and is not recommended for classroom use.
