Post subject:  Simple question on using 269 motor

This 269 motor setup question is simple, compared to most of the questions I read as I searched for its answer before posting; but I can still use the help.

When using the 269 motor with the 3 wire 'adapter' (for lack of a better term) in the Corter microprocessor, does one select the motor type as VEX 269 Motor or 3-wire Motor? For that matter, does this make a difference?

I am new at teaching VEX and ROBOTC; so I want to be able to te4ach the correct steps and to explain why the correct selection is needed.

Thanks,
Omarrh

The main difference between the 269 motor (newer) and 3-wire motor (older) is that the newer 269 motors can be used with VEX's Integrated Motor Encoders (IME's) and will need to be set up as 269 motors in ROBOTC to accommodate this. Other than that, the motors are similar from a programming standpoint; the same motor values, from -127 to +127, can be sent to either one with similar results.
