Post Using FRC motor controllers with PIC?
Our FRC team is trying to convert our 2012 robot to using a VEX controller and PIC (with RobotC code) for community outreach events. In the past, we have successfully used Victor speed controllers with the VEX signal splitters and PIC with base software. We are trying to use Jaguar speed controllers on this robot. They seem to work except for we seem to have a stuttering problem which gets worse depending upon how many motors are being directed to run. I know the PWM timing specs are different between the Victors and Jags and can cause the speeds to be different between the two, but I wouldn't expect that to cause a stuttering problem. I also don't see why it would be worse depending upon the number of motors being directed unless it was some kind of timing/CPU limit issue.

Has anyone successfully used Jags with a PIC?

Thanks,
Kenton Cabiness
