I am a teaching aid for a summer PLTW class, and we are having some difficulty with our RobotC license. It's not that we are having difficulty renewing the license, it's just that by the time we could, the summer classes would already be over. So we are looking to see if there is any way around this? Perhaps an online version of the RobotC coding interface, anything that would allow us to code, while not having to install the new version (That in itself is another problem; even if we could renew the license now, the IT people are being difficult.) So if there is any way to get the newest version of RobotC up and running on our kids' computers, it would be an absolutely fantastic bit of luck.

If your IT department is being difficult then they're not doing their jobs: enabling your core business processes, whatever those may be. I'm in IT myself and I deal with admins like you describe all the time. It's important to remind them that without the business, there's no need for IT. You wouldn't accept a waiter in a restaurant to only serve you mayonnaise with your fries just because the ketchup is on a hard to reach shelf.

There are no online, browser based versions of ROBOTC, I'm afraid. A work-around is to be given local administrative rights on the computer you're trying to install ROBOTC on. You only need it for the installation process, after that you're good to go.
