Post Dell Venue Tablet w Windows 8.1 not recognizing VEX Cortex
When the computer is on and I plug the USB A-A cable into tablet and then into the VEX Cortex, the tablet does not show in the Device Manager that anything has been plugged in. And the lights are as follow:

ROBOT: Green blinking slow
VEXnet: no light
GAME: Green blinking fast

If I restart the tablet with the Cortex connected I get the following in the Device Manager:

Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)

And the GAME light turns off while the ROBOT light continues to blink slow.

I do not have any SMARTboard programs on the tablet.

File comment: Device Manager after restarting while Cortex is plugged in.

Have you tried downloading and installing the drivers for the Cortex manually, directly from VEX's website? ROBOTC normally installs the Cortex drivers during its installation process, but in some cases you may need to download and install them manually (depending on the specifics of your computer). You can find the latest version of the drivers at the link below.
