Post Ta ta! BrickWorld Chicago 2012 tomorrow!
Ta ta! Bon voyage! Chow! Asteluago, amigo! Bye! I'll be at BrickWorld 2012 starting tomorrow through Sunday, and won't be on here much. I'm bringing several robots, all programmed in RobotC, as well as competing in the BOTS challenge. I'll also have a table there, so stop by if your going! If you are going, PM me so I can tell you me real name. My dad wouldn't like it if I posted it in public.

Good bye for the next few days!

Well, what is the scoop? How did things go? I guess you are editing your video presentation of the event at the moment?

Well, it went pretty well. Unfortunately, I wasn't very well prepared media-wise, and I was very busy, so the only vids/pics I have are the ones my parents took. :? I'm still getting everything unpacked (actaully, I've hardly started. Our house is pretty small, so I have to work in the garage. Today was a scorcher here, so it's extremely hot out there.). There is a couple things I can tell you, though. Ya'know Steve Hassenplug, right? I almost beat him in two competitions. If he hadn't shown up, I would've won first in both by a long shot. I built a boat the night before the boat race, it had no steering control (I didn't even have any hulls until I got some from a vendor there) and smashed into a wall before spinning in circles and (almost) sinking. Too bad I didn't get a video of that

So, yeah, I'm getting everything back together. After preparing for two-months, and the event (non-stop 6:30AM to 1:00AM fun for 4-days straight) I'm finding it kinda hard to get back to normal.

Long shot? Really? For one competition Steve blew away ALL the competition with a very impressive robot consistently acccomplishing the challenge in less than 5 seconds. Second place (you?) was in the region of 10 seconds, and by my recollection 3rd place was close behind at 11 seconds.

Just sayin'

I didn't mean to cause offense. I'm just repeating what Steve said. Before I left he said:

I never got to see the scores, so all that's all I had to go by.

I know you're all eager to hear what happened. Rest assured, that as soon as I'm done doing some tests (give it a week or so), I'll be getting videos and such up. Thank you for your patience.

One of the coolest things I love about robotics are all the stories you build by going to shows/expos/competitions. Can't wait to hear how it went for you!

Well, it took longer than expected, but I've finally got an overview of the event up: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=4707
