Post subject:  logitech controller issues

We are new to FTC this year and decided to use RobotC. We are having major issues with the competition issued logitech gamepad F310 controller. We are using the both one that came with the FTC competition kit as well as one purchased in addition to. We have not tried to use them as dual control yet in any program we have written.

Up until a few days ago, all was well. Then, for no apparent reason we can discern, the logitec joysticks started being read incorrectly. This happens when we try to use them with ANY program in RobotC. We have tried both Windows 7 and Windows 8 laptops.

In RobotC when we go to "Window", "Configure Joystick" the program sees the button and XYZ assignations correctly. When we check in the Devices settings on our different PCs the configuration for the logitec controller is also correct.

The trouble comes when we go to the debugger window once we have compiled and downloaded a program (ANY program including the samples). For no apparent reason the A,B,X,Y buttons and XYZ axis assignations reassign themselves. Custom configuration will allow us to "fix the problem" for X and Y axis only. Not for the Z axis or the buttons.

Hopefully this description makes sense. I would love ANY help or advice anyone can offer.

Check the back of the controller for a switch. The switch should be in "D" mode, not "X" mode.

Thanks! I will check this when I get back to school tomorrow. In the event the controllers have been in "D" mode - any thoughts?

The only other thing I can think of is some kind of driver issue, but that seems unlikely, seeing as you have the problem on multiple PCs and they are configured correctly when you check the device settings.
