 RobotC for RCX
Earlier this year there were a few posts regarding RCX programming in RobotC. I was going to chase it up but unfortunately it seems to have disappeared from the Forum.
The RCX functionality was removed from the RobotC NXT release (for very good reasons) but here was an indication that a version of the IDE would be available for us old fashioned RCX types.
Is this now officially a "dead duck" or is it still on the program ?
Even if it was possible to just ruin an old version (1.X) in parallel to 3.x that would be enough to keep us going. It is bit of a pain using Robolab when we use RobotC for NXT, VEX and Cortex.

 Re: RobotC for RCX
And you aren't the only one that would use the RCX with ROBOTC.

 Re: RobotC for RCX
I asked support about that when 3.0 was released. They said that they would be releasing a free RCX-only version by the end of the year. In the meantime, they gave me a license for 2.0.

 Re: RobotC for RCX
And it works !!!!!
Thankyou RobotC developers !
The RobotC for RCX software runs beautifully and has brought our old hardware back from the dead.
I now remember how s l o w the old RCX towers are when using Debug or downloading the firmware.
The RCXs may lack a degree of sophistication but still make awesome proportional control line followers. While we no longer use the RCXs in class activities the lunchtime robotics groups will be having a ball and brushing up their RobotC programming skills.
