Post Persisting Data
Hello!
I just purchased robotc and I am still exploring all of its features. I am wondering however, is it possible to persist data that is retrieved within the virtual world? As an example, I would like to have the option to run my robot under "explorer" mode, where it will use the sonar to record the locations of objects and will continue to wonder around until I give the order to stop. The obstacle location data are what I'm hoping to persist in either a flat-file or some other means.

Is this possible with the RVW program? If so, could you please elaborate on how I can persist the data?

Thank you very much!

I asked the developers a similar Q a little while back and the answer is no, I'm afraid. I wanted the functionality to save a map between runs for my maze solving robot.

Ouch. Thank you for the fast response.

Do you know if that was a limitation of RVW or is it a limitation of the RobotC language?

It's just a RVW limitation. If you are using the nxt, you can use the file access commands for storage on a physical robot; even after the robot powers down the info will still be there.
