Post Installing Driver on Windows 8
I am having a problem installing the Arduino Uno drive on Windows 8. I walked through adding the driver via the instructions, but I get an error stating:

"The third party INF does not contain digital signature information."

I've not run into this with Windows 7. There is no existing driver to uninstall, so that isn't an issue either.

I double checked that I am selecting the correct folder where the drivers are located. 'Drivers/Arduino' folder inside of the ROBOTC directory.

I am the administrator with privileges and there isn't anything preventing ROBOTC from installing drivers on the computer.

Any help you can offer is appreciated.

Thanks,

Gary

This appears to be a problem with how Windows 8 handles unsigned drivers and not so much the driver itself; a bit of research shows that this can be rectified by changing the 'Disable Driver Signature Enforcement' option in the Startup Settings boot menu. Instructions on how to do this can be found at the link below:

Well done, JohnWatson. That cured my ills with this installation. Much appreciated, sir. :bigthumb: :D

No problem at all. I'm actually surprised I didn't run into the same issue when I was installing and testing ROBOTC on our Windows 8 machine; there may be an option during installation to bypass the driver signing enforcement that I selected and forgot about. Out of curiosity, are you using Windows 8.0 or have you updated to 8.1 yet?

I forgot about clearing unsigned drivers.

No I'm still using win 8.0. I am experimenting with a Dell pad so I'll stay there. I'm not paying for an upgrade on this one.
