Post Getting Started with Robot Virtual Worlds
I can't seem to get past step 3.6 in "Getting Started with Robot Virtual Worlds". I am not given the option of "Virtual Worlds" under "Compiler Target".
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

The reason you are seeing this is because the VEX IQ platform is not currently supported by ROBOTC Virtual Worlds; it is currently under development and we plan to have it available as soon as possible. In the meantime, you will be able to program the VEX Cortex platform for the Virtual Worlds compiler target.

Post Re: Getting Started with Robot Virtual Worlds
John, thanks for your quick response, but I am afraid I am still a little confused. I am trying to program in the VEX Cortex platform. Did I go down a wrong path?

A little history...I am a ME with a company that provided the local high school with a 10K grant for robots. I have been asked to support the kids, but I don't have independent access to a robot. So I thought I could use the virtual world to practice programming.

Hopefully you can point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

I see the issue now. Since you have both the ROBOTC Virtual Worlds for VEX Robotics 4.0 and ROBOTC for Vex Robotics 4.0 trials active, you have the option to either code for the IQ (physical only, for the time being) or the Cortex (physical or Virtual Worlds). You currently have the 'Platform Type' under the 'Robot' menu set to 'VEX IQ', which is removing the Virtual Worlds 'Compiler Target' option (since there is currently no Virtual Worlds option for the IQ).

You should be able to change the Platform Type menu option to 'VEX Cortex', which will then allow you to select the 'Virtual Worlds' option from the Compiler Target menu.
