Post (REVISED) Hi-Technic IRLink Sensor (NIL1046)
Has anyone been successful in using RobotC and this sensor to control PFMotors through the Power functions / Technic IR Receiver (8884), on an EV3?

According to HiTechnic it is supposed to be possible, but I have been unable to find an example. If this is possible is there a sample complete program, including sample pragma, includes etc., that I can use as a learning vehicle. I admit I'm just starting with RobotC, but have coded non-robotic c before.
I'm using 4.55

RCX support for the IR Link in the 3rd party driver is very limited. You can have a go by taking a look at the files here:

I'm interested in using the 8884 not the rcx.
